Last Thursday, we had some special visitors at MIA Systems: Jonas, Jodok, and Leopold joined us as part of Vorarlberg’s Future Day “Ich geh mit” (I’m coming along) and experienced firsthand how diverse and exciting the world of software development can be.
Get in, discover, participate
We started with a short tour of the company: Who are we? What do we actually do all day? And what does the world of warehouse management software look like from the inside? Then we moved on to the heart of our company—the world of software development. The boys learned firsthand how to become a software developer, what is important, and why this job is so exciting.
Some things just make more sense in person –
so we took a quick trip to our partner Servus Intralogistics in Dornbirn.
There, the three got to experience firsthand how our software is used in everyday warehouse operations – right in the middle of it all, not just watching from the sidelines!
Scanners instead of school desks: now you can pick your own orders
Back at the office, we first played a round of table soccer – concentration and team spirit on a whole new level. Afterwards, the boys were allowed to try out our mobile solution for themselves: Together, they picked fictitious orders – and were then allowed to distribute the goods to our employees.
As every Thursday, our popular ice cream meeting took place in the afternoon – a little break with ice cream, conversation, and good cheer. At the end, there was a scratch coding mission with LEGO Boost – playful programming, tinkering, and creativity.
An all-around successful day with many impressions, lots of fun, and a real insight into the world of MIA Systems.
Thank you for visiting, Jonas, Jodok, and Leopold—we really enjoyed having you here!
